About Young Writers Project
YWP is a Vermont 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed in 2006 that engages thousands of Vermont and NH students in grades 4-12 in a variety of writing projects, helps them improve and presents their best work online, in newspapers, on radio and stage and in our showcase digital magazine, The Voice: thevoice.youngwritersproject.org.
Strong writing skills are critical for students to engage fully in any learning exercise, succeed in college and the workplace, develop positive self-images, express themselves and engage fully in their communities.
YWP’s vision is to create generations of confident writers and engaged citizens. Our mission is to reach as many students as possible, particularly those from socially and economically challenged backgrounds.
