The Busy Trees

The forest was busy today. Goods being transported for winter, elders being brought into the winter dens, and of course, the humans decided it was a good day to go for a hike. The walked around in the forest with their short and stubby bodies, pulling up plants and stomping on insects. I really pity them. Not. They have absolutely no consideration for this planet, and of course we’ re stuck here with them. They prance around in their warm clothing and pretend we’re not even there! When Juniper tried to get them to stop the kids from destroying the wildlife, they walked right past as if they didn't even see her! And when we tried to warn the adults that this was an endangered plain of land with exotic birds and plants, they ignored us! It's like they don't know we’re there! It's always been like this. Our ancestors thought that we were only lucky when they didn't notice us, so we had to hide, but now it's clear that they can't even see us. We’ve been trying forever to stop them from killing to wild, but they never will unless something changes. For ferns sake, it's like nothing ever will. So we work to regrow the plants and work even harder to fill up the berries to store for winter.

As the last of the humans flurry past, I quickly notice that one of the humans has left a fur and leather cape behind. From experience, I know how warm these are, much more than any we have. I take the cape quickly and go before anyone notices me. I cover it with leaves, hiding it under berries. I enter the den of elders, immediately making my way over to Shirogane, my grandmother. I know that this warmth from the humans will work better than any moss or scavenged leather that I know they won't give you. We’ll work together for this winter, away from the humans.

Lost with the Elves

I start to jog, jumping over roots, breathing heavily. The air smells like fallen leaves and the sun casts a golden light through the branches of the trees that rise high above me, but I don’t focus on that; I can only think about how I have to get home fast. I was hiking in the woods with my dog when she ran off the trail, and I had no choice but to follow her. By the time I caught up to her, I was completely disoriented, and now we’re lost in the woods and the sun is setting. Great. I keep running, coaxing Bella along beside me, when I trip over a root and fall. I must hit my head, because the next thing I know, three creatures are standing above me. They look sort of human-like, but they have blue skin, and they can’t be more than three feet tall. One kneels down beside me, and asks, “is you okay?”

“Yes”, I reply. “Who are you?”

“I is Lily. They is Birch and Rose. We is pond elves.”

“My name is Amber. I’m a human. How did you find me?”

“Me see you fall. Why is you here?” Rose speeks this time. Her voice is gentle and high pitched, and she smiles as she talked.

“I’m lost,” I say. “Do you know how to get back to the trail?”

“Yez. We knowz evewywhere near here.” This time it is Birch who talks, and his deep gravelly voice makes him seem older than the girls, even though he looks the same age.

“Can you take me there please? I have to get back before it gets dark.”

“I bringz you. Take me hand.” Birch offers his small, blue hand, and I take it with one hand and hold Bella’s collar with my other. “One, troo, zree,” he says, and then he jumps, and the world spins around us.

“We iz here,” Birch says as I lean against a tree for support. Suddenly, we are back on the trail, and Rose and Lily are nowhere to be seen. “Thank you so much,” I say. “I will never forget you.”

“I am happy I helpz.” Birch nods to me as he backs away. “There eez only one way to thank me; never tell anybody else about us.”

“Okay. I won’t. Thank you,” I call one more time, and Birch disappears in a blur. I stare at the spot where he was for a moment, but then Bella barks a little way down the trail, and I snap out of it. I start to jog again, this time being much more careful of roots, and promise myself what I promised Birch: I will never forget those three.

Fables vs Reality

Fables or truth

Decisions up to you

At a loss for words

I can’t believe my eyes

The creatures I thought were myths

My whole life was a lie

A reality in storybooks

My eyes are wide open

Yet I can’t see clearly

To believe what I see

Or keep the fairytale to me

I messed up

For so long my existence was contained

Will I get banished?

It was an accidental slip up

How could this have happened

She saw me

They'll come back for me

Our kind is compromised

I can't handle the strange looks

We no longer only exist in storybooks

Enchanted

Loving creatures

Valuable things living in the forest

Effortlesslytrying to get people to believe they are real

Shimmering Beautifull creatures

Not so right about elves

My name is Jen Samani and this is the tale of how I learned that I was not so right about elves. I was walking through the forest with my best friend Charles and we were walking to my house. We were going through the forest because he literaly beged me to. We were argueing about what I thought was a mith of fable whatever you want to call it we were talking about elves that Charles thought lived in these very woods. We were talking he said "Jen your go-" when I cut him off and said "Elves are not real and if your so sure why don't you get some proof!" and thats when I fell into the hole. I went tumbleing in and at the bottem I saw a cave and my curiosity overtook me so I went in and what I saw amazed me there were little leges and little mushroom houses  were on them. and then I saw them they were small elves they wern't dressed like fairy tales mad them out to be the wore normal clothes just really tiny. And thats when Charles came down and started shouting "I told you so I told you so!" And I say "I guess I wasn't so right about elves."  The End

Elves Dragons and other creatures.

you may not believe in fantasy creatures like dragons or elves. but i can get you questioning there existence. if dragons were real they would probably not show them selves to humans in order for there survival. ever heard of disappearances in the forests? ever thought it could be elves protecting them selves? or maybe trolls? tell me if you believe now.
